AN INDIVIDUALISED STRENGTHS-BASED THERAPEUTIC PROGRAMME
A Focus on Wellbeing
As a working farm, we have the unique ability to demonstrate to rangatahi another way of being, a different way of life. This encompasses all aspects of wellbeing, such as where kai comes from, how to care for others, and how this impacts on our overall wairua.
CREATING OPPORTUNITIES
Stockdale Farm provides an opportunity for young people to safely interact with animals at their own pace. Our approach to animal-based therapy is simple: let the young person lead and we will gently guide them.
YOUTH MENTAL WELLBEING
CREATING A PLAN THAT WORKS
Stockdale Farm programmes are designed to engage with rangatahi who are experiencing complications in some aspect of their lives. This includes mental health, social wellbeing, learning difficulties, and response to trauma.
Our focus is holistic. We understand that a person’s wellbeing is multi-faceted and influenced by both external and internal factors. Learning core life skills, along with developing resilience are two main focuses at Stockdale.
Much of our work supports rangatahi as they integrate back into kura where they may have experienced multiple suspensions or exclusions.
